Last week we launched new BIG-IP 1600 and 3600 application delivery platforms that offer superior value through increased performance and integrated functionality at lower price points. These platforms complement the new release of BIG-IP software which features advanced security and increased ease of use.

Highlights of the new products include:

Full-featured ADC right out of the box - Every 1600 and 3600 platform comes standard with Fast Cache, IPv6 Gateway, Rate Shaping, SSL Offload, and Compression features.

Advanced security and acceleration - The 3600 platform is able to run BIG-IP Application Security Manager or WebAccelerator as a module on BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager.

Integrated protocol security option - Both new platforms are able to run the new BIG-IP Protocol Security Module (PSM).

Lower operating costs and greater efficiency - Twice the performance of their predecessors without increasing their power, space, or cooling requirements.

F5 is No. 1 ADC Worldwide Market Share Leader

It's official - We continue to hold the No.1 position in the Application Delivery Controller (ADC) market!

In the recently published Gartner report, Market Share: Application Acceleration Equipment, Worldwide, 1Q08 (June 2008), F5 leads the ADC market with a 38.1% share in calendar 1Q08.

F5 continues to dominate the advanced platform ADC sub-segment, with a 61.1% market share - over 4x that of the nearest competitor.

New Gartner Research -You Can't Do Cloud Computing Without the Right Cloud (Network)

Cloud computing resources will be accessed by the public Internet, private networks and often by hybrids of the two. Providers and users of cloud services must understand the performance, redundancy and cost associated with each option.

Key findings:

- The Internet will be the most cost-effective cloud access method but it will not assure anything near 100% performance.

- Augmented Internet services will improve performance at additional cost.

- Carrier-provided MPLS services can assure 100% performance but have coverage limitations, until universal network-to-network gateways are implemented via carriers.

F5 Announces Results for Third Quarter of Fiscal 2008

We've achieved our 22nd consecutive quarter of sequential revenue growth!

On July 23rd we announced revenue of $165.6M, up 4% from $159.1M in the prior quarter and 25% from $132.4M in the third quarter of fiscal 2007. Thanks to you, the EMEA region saw strong growth in demand for our core application delivery controller business.

Our chassis-based VIPRION controller was a key driver of product revenue growth, especially robust among large Internet content and service providers. With VIPRION contributing to strong sales at the high end of our product line, we believe our new entry-level ADC products will have a positive impact on our low-end sales.

F5 Services expands RMA Services

F5 is pleased to announce the opening of new UPS depots in Madrid, Paris, Dublin, Leeds and Bristol in addition to the existing depots in London, Tel Aviv and Cologne.

All of these operations, with the exception of Tel Aviv, can offer RMA-3 service (four-hour hardware replacement). All RMA-3 depots are on 7x24 cover.
